CrashKit Privacy Policy
Effective September 11, 2026 · The short version: your accident records are stored only on your phone, and we never receive them. Two narrow exceptions are described below.
What we collect about you
Nothing. CrashKit has no accounts, no sign-up, and no servers that store user data. Your photos, voice memos, notes, incident details, insurance information, and anyone else's information you record are stored only on your device.
What stays on your phone
- All accident photos and their time/location stamps
- All incident records: other-driver details, witnesses, police info, conditions, symptom logs
- Your profile: vehicle, insurance, and emergency-contact details
- Voice memos and generated PDF evidence packages
Deleting an incident in the app deletes it from this device. There is no copy anywhere else — we never had one. "My info" also has an Erase everything on this phone button that clears your profile and every saved incident at once.
One honest limit. Nobody can come to us for your information, because we do not have it — your records live on your phone, not on our servers. But that does not protect the phone itself: if you make an insurance claim or go to court, a judge can order you to hand over your own records, the same as any photo or note you make yourself. So write your notes and record your voice memos as if the other driver's lawyer or insurance company will read them one day. This is general information, not legal advice.
When information leaves your phone
Only when you choose to send it — for example emailing your evidence package, texting a tow company, or sharing photos with a repair shop. You initiate and confirm every send using your own email or messaging apps.
Location
With your permission, location is used on your device to stamp photos and incident records, and to find nearby services. When you search for nearby tow, repair, medical, or legal services, your coordinates are sent anonymously to a map data service (OpenStreetMap) or handed to your phone's Maps app to return results. No identity or incident content is sent with them, and we do not store them.
Anonymous app health
We may count anonymous installs and app launches (via Expo Application Services) to know how many people use CrashKit. This is a count — it includes no names, no locations, no incident content, and cannot identify you.
Permissions the app asks for
- Camera — to photograph the scene and scan license barcodes and insurance cards. Processing (including barcode and text reading) happens on the device.
- Location — stamps and nearby search, as above.
- Microphone — your voice memo. Stored on the device only.
- Notifications — your own 24-hour and 3-day wellness check-in reminders, scheduled on the device.
What we never do
- No selling or sharing of personal data — we don't have it
- No advertising trackers or analytics profiles
- No reading of your photos, contacts, or messages
Children
CrashKit is intended for drivers and is not directed at children under 13.
Parents often set CrashKit up on a teenager's phone. That works exactly the same way as any other phone: what the young driver enters — their details, photos, notes and symptom records — stays on that device, is never sent to us, and we never see it. There is no account, so we hold nothing about them at all. Whoever holds the phone controls the records on it.
Who operates CrashKit
CrashKit is made and operated by Blake CRM Consulting LLC, a limited liability company registered in Arizona, USA. The promises on this page are made by that company.
